So our DSL was dropping in and out. So I called ATT to deal with it. So after two calls the tech talks to his supervisor. I am on hold. He is doing his tests. His screen is telling him to send a tech out. So he come back on the line and tells me that he has escalated my claim and will send a tech out. BUT…. He can not tell me when. No seriously — he really can’t tell me when a service tech can come out. He says that all he can do is tell the tech that he needs to call before he tries to enter the home if we are not home… WHAT? What he F is this? I said kind of confused like — so let me understand, your supervisor says they need to send a tech out, but you don’t know when and you are giving him permission to enter my home? This must be a joke or I am getting punked — I don’t know which. I told the service tech that it would be nice for some notice on the service call and he does NOT have my permission to enter my home without me there. “Uh well then, you have a good night and thank you for choosing ATT.” Bite me. Pal. Bite me.

God and stuff

It has been about 7 years since I really went to church. Fact is I don’t like it. There I said it. I don’t like church. It has nothing to do with God my not liking church — it is the people next to me that I don’t trust. It goes back a piece to explain why. I did not grow up in a church going home. I can across Christianity — or it came across me when I was sick in junior high (which is a different story). I met a lady during a follow up visit named Melinda. She told me about Jesus and how I could accept Him as my personal savior. I did late one night in my attic bedroom. And I believe I had a conversion experience. No I did not hear voices but the burden of what a shitty world this is was lifted and I understood why people do the things they do. Why fathers leave their kids and nice guys get their ass kicked at school. My belief has not changed — my faith has. Now I don’t know if I was simply unlucky or stupid. But I had a string of bad church/fellowship experiences. I gained friends and then lost them all in a day because I was not the kind of Christian they wanted me to be. This happened 5 times. All different groups. Frankly I am tired. I did nothing wrong — no sin, no ill said words. I just was not the guy they were looking for. So I think my attitude is why try? Why try to go to church? I mean screw them.

Now I have heard the lines — oh we are all imperfect, grace abounds, blah blah blah — but why do Christian continue to hurt each other? I don’t know. I just don’t want to get judged or get hurt again. I mean, don’t tell me how different your church is and about the fifteen different ministries you have. Just tell me that I am safe to come on Sunday.

So I right now Dora has dispatched her under cover star to spy on Swipper who is building a robot butterfly to swipe something of Dora’s … I am not sure.

Well the home computer is down. I am installing everything again — good thing I am very motivated to back up everything. No RAID, just dump everything on a back up external harddrive — Old skool. Less complicated with no performance loss — Yes, yes you say if I set up a box with mirror config that would ensure that my data is safe. But how many back ups do I need? I get existential about these things… or maybe it is lazy. Some day the computer is going to win and I am going to loose all of my pictures –
